Teaching with apps for computers and handheld devices can be very engaging to students.  But, all apps are not created equal! Go beyond simple apps that lead to student memorization and recall. Challenge your students by using apps to reflect, analyze and creatively solve complex, real-world problems by choosing apps that align with high rigor/high relevance teaching strategies. In this session, discover dozens of free or low-cost apps that are proven to increase student engagement and provide authentic instruction and assessments that contribute to rigorous and relevant student learning.

Participants will:
Be introduced to a model to define high rigor/high relevance instruction and 19 instructional strategies
Understand that apps should be selected based on the strategy to achieve learning goal
Learn how to adapt low level game apps to higher relevance
Be introduced to the every growing list of learning apps
