1st Annual NYC Conference: Digital Leadership

Attend our presentation and experience how PREP21 has revolutionized our teaching methods and increased student engagement. Explore our methods and implement technological resources to leverage this in your school. A portion of the presentation includes a playground activity allowing attendees to interact with our students and their ISTE Standard-aligned creations.
Attendees will walk away with a handbook and a set of tools needed to begin the implementation process of PREP21 at their own school with an opportunity for teacher leaders to earn a micro credential and for student leaders to earn a digital badge aligned to the PREP21 instructional methodology.

Teachers will learn a new Professional Development structure focusing on three week cycles of “learn it, work it, share it” where teacher leaders taught new engagement strategies to their peers including PREP21. As a direct result, teachers were given the opportunity to experiment with this and many other new ideas in their classes and then reflect upon the practice for next steps. Moving away from traditional practices and resources has increased student engagement and development of 21st century skills including collaboration, research, debate, and critical thinking. The “learn it, work it, share it” model has allowed for gradual implementation of new methods with the support of the Edison community.
