Moses Ojeda has been an educator for the past 20 years. He is a graduate of Adelphi University where he earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Technology. Moses is also a life long learner and holds the following industry certifications: Adobe Certified, Apple Certified Technician, Comptia A+, Comptia Strata, IC3, and Microsoft Office Specialist. Over the years, his accomplishments and efforts haven’t gone unrecognized. Moses is the recipient of the following awards: Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers 1999, UFT CTE Teacher of the Year 2005, MOUSE Squad Coordinator of the Year 2006 & 2007, Senator Padavan Teacher of the Year Award 2008, and Champion of Digital Literacy by Certiport 2012.

Moses attended Thomas A. Edison CTE High School as a student and is a product of Career and Technical Education. Upon graduating from high school Moses enrolled in a five year program with the NYC Department of Education that preparded him to become an IT educator. In 1998 he returned to his alma mater as an IT educator until 2008 when he became the department head of Career & Techinical Education programs. Within this time Moses has been instrumental in implementing new and innovative CTE programs such as Internetworking, BioTechnology (BioRAD), Collision and Refinishing, Microsoft Office Specialist, Web Design, and Robotics. The exisiting CTE programs were upgraded to align and reflect the latest industry standards. Currently, Thomas A. Edison CTE High School offers the most CTE programs and has the highest passing rate of industry certifications than any other school in NYC.

In 2010, Moses revived the SkillsUSA Chapter in the school in order to measure the rigor of the CTE programs developed. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working to ensure America has a skilled workforce. Since the revival, Thomas A. Edison has measured the rigor and skills of their students through competitions. They have won 1st place in the various CTE competitions offered at the New York City and New York State SkillsUSA Championships and they have also won 1st place at the National Level for Internetworking and Collision and Refinishing. In 2012, Moses became the SkillsUSA NYC Area 5 Administrative Trustee and is currently responsible for supervising the 19 SkillsUSA chapters across the 5 boroughs.



In 2012, Moses became the Principal of Thomas A. Edison and continues to implement his vision of developing students with the academic rigor and career and technical education skills needed to become the productive citizens of the future. Moses continues to educate by sharing his vision of CTE with aspiring prinicipals of new schools and helping them develop and implement three-year CTE programs.
